The Product
The core of this line is a heavy-duty powered roller conveyor. The frame is welded from structural carbon steel, stress-relieved after welding, and finished with powder coating — rigid, dimensionally stable, and resistant to deformation under load. Rollers are machined from seamless steel tube with cold-drawn shafts and precision bearings. Each roller carries several hundred kilograms, and the line as a whole is rated for the weight of high- and low-voltage switchgear cabinets during assembly and transfer. Roller spacing is matched to the cabinet base frame so that every cabinet is supported by at least three to four rollers at all times — smooth travel, no jamming.
Drive is by geared motor with chain transmission, controlled by a variable frequency drive. Standard line speed is 5–15 m/min, set to match the customer’s production takt. Guide rails and yellow safety edging run along both sides to keep cabinets on track and mark off the work zone. The line is fully modular: standard sections bolt together to any length, and curves, transfer sections, and pop-up transfer units can be added as needed, making future expansion straightforward.
The Process
The line covers the complete switchgear workflow from cabinet loading to final packing:
- Loading. Cabinet enclosures are lifted onto the start of the line by the shop’s overhead crane. Working height is set at 600–800 mm, so operators assemble at standing height — no bending, no manual handling.
- Assembly. Cabinets move station by station on the conveyor at a set pace. Operators complete breaker and component mounting, main busbar fabrication and installation, secondary wiring, and instrument and door fitting in sequence. Pneumatic stoppers and foot-operated release switches hold each cabinet at its station until the work is done — fixed stations, fixed takt, true flow production.
- Transfer and turning. Where the line changes direction, pop-up transfer units lift the cabinet and move it laterally on chains for a 90-degree turn. No crane, no forklift, no manual pushing.
- Testing. Power-frequency withstand (hipot) testing and energized commissioning stations are built into the end of the line. Cabinets are tested in place; passed units flow directly to packing.
- Packing and offloading. Finished cabinets are film-wrapped, corner-protected, and cartoned on the final section, then taken off by forklift or crane for warehousing.
The whole line integrates with the shop’s cranes and forklifts. Material flow runs in one clear direction, and cabinets never touch the floor between loading and packing. That means fewer lifts, less risk of impact damage to painted enclosures, and significantly lower physical strain on operators.
